Life As A Tapestry
Life is a tapestry. The words of Carol King come to mind in this season for my life as a tapestry. “My life has been a tapestry of rich and royal hue. An everlasting vision of the ever-changing view. A wond’rous woven magic in bits of blue and gold. A tapestry to feel and see impossible to hold…”
Love for Jesus and Music
My life as a tapestry began at the age of 14 when I was radically impacted by the love of Jesus. I have spent a life time weaving my love for Jesus with my love for music. He created me to be His worshiper through a lifestyle of Spirit and Truth worship. I served for decades in worship ministry, house of prayer ministry, children’s ministry, camps, and conferences. It took decades, however, to deconstruct (a therapy term for healing false beliefs) all of the religion, awakening to the Truth of a loving and kind Heavenly Father who sees and relates to me entirely based on what Jesus did. Period. He who the Son sets free is free indeed! This Truth is His heart for all mankind in relating both to Him and to one another.
My tapestry began to weave Holy Spirit, Kingdom, identity, and purpose (from orphan spirit to daughter of the Most High/son) in my 30’s. I took ‘training up my children in the way they should go’ and ‘for His glory’ very seriously. The journey involved seeking first His Kingdom, His righteousness, peace, and joy intimately each and every day, month, and year…I continue to seek deeper, higher, and wider each and every day and in every season.
The Piano
A love, gifting, and skill in piano was woven into my life as a tapestry from early childhood, landing on classically trained in piano performance with undergraduate and graduate music degrees. The Lord’s anointing also came on me at an early age, although I was completely unaware of that specific piece until my late thirties. I will never forget the very first moment I was made aware of and felt His amazing tangible weighty Presence literally and physically!
My love for music also included a love for teaching it to children from preschool age on, along with increasingly understanding and encouraging the infinite benefits on child development, academics, it’s impact on the physical body, emotions, mind, and spirit. My graduate studies included music with the gifted, as well as music therapy. I applied everything I learned on behalf of our own three children from the womb on.
Healing Presence
Music and sound enlarged into the area of healing in His Presence, i.e. body, mind, soul, and spirit. The medical and scientific aspects of music’s impact and benefits, i.e. sound therapy, were added during a nine month kidney failure and transplant journey that significantly impacted our family.
Holy Spirit then led me to record holistic instrumental music, specifically and intentionally without words. Recent research and studies of Dr. Mei Rui at the MD Anderson Cancer Center confirms why instrumental music is preferred when using music as medicine: it eliminates involving language processing/the language barrier in the brain (I always love and appreciate Holy Spirit’s confirmations!). Holy Spirit also confirmed His leading for using G as Red (rather than C as Red) via an Austrian/Swiss Quantum Biologist, Rasmus Gaupp-Berghausen back in 2024. My music and sound tapestry has always pointed to Jesus, Holy Spirit Presence, and my Heavenly Father as the Healer.
Enlarging My Tent
My life as a tapestry has been increasingly weaving Isaiah 61 through energetic training and strategic equipping that comes alongside the most brokenhearted, i.e. those impacted by DID, SRA, TBMC, trafficking, etc.. Precious individuals impacted by the most heinous of human atrocities are majorly on the Father’s heart.
My own life’s tapestry has navigated a number of traumatic difficulties and losses, requiring a healing journey of my own. Our Heavenly Father wastes nothing in our journeys and is always at work turning it to good on behalf of ourselves and others. Difficult seasons and losses, therefore, have only increased my capacity for His compassion, mercy, humility, and grace to flow through me on behalf of individuals needing me to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Our Heavenly Father is always loving, patient, forgiving, and kind. Jesus has made a way for that to be our lens and our means of relating to others always, regardless of circumstances. In the weaving, He has taught me to be an Esther, a Deborah, a Proverbs 31 woman, a David, a Daniel, and an Isaiah.
The Perfect Gift
The Lord graced me with the perfect gift as husband, best friend, and soul mate 46+ years ago. He has always sen me as my Heavenly Father sees me. He has always spoken His truth over me, all along the way, especially when I couldn’t see it. I would never have arrived at this juncture of my life as a tapestry without him. I am eternally grateful, thankful, and immeasurably blessed.
My better half has always told me, however, that my Kingdom calling appeals to only 2% of 2% of people. He has not been wrong in that regarding the journey thus far, whether it’s teaching, podcasts, Youtube Channel, Social Media, books, curriculums, or courses I have been led to release. My music releases on digital distribution have possibly been a bit more than that, with over 4 million streams on Spotify alone, much less Apple Music, Amazon, Youtube, Pandora, Deezer, etc.. Only the Lord knows, however, who my calling is for on the path ahead in this NOW season. “Here I am Lord, send me.”
A Testimony
As I was wrapping up this post, I was at the clinic in the midst of an uncertain medical outcome of my own. While praying through it, I received a wonderful praise report via Messenger, specific to the article I had shared on social media about Dr. Mei Rui’s Music Medicine (see link under the Healing Presence paragraph in this post). I had specifically been talking with the Lord about my many years as a sound therapist and desiring testimony’s of His healing. When this testimony came, it released the much needed peace I was praying for myself in that moment.
The timing of the Lord is always absolutely perfect! All thanks, praise, glory, and honor to the One who is our Healer! The Message: “Well Tammy, this makes complete sense to us as you composed a song for my husband which had immediate and continuing results. He is doing phenomenally well 7 yrs later past his cancer diagnosis. Thank you Jesus for giving Tammy gifts like these!”
The Perfect Conclusion
The following post from Healing Anointing this a.m. on Facebook (09/01/26) sums up my life as a tapestry journey up to this juncture perfectly.
“Your life is an epistle (a tapestry – my words). A valley hates to see you coming because God made you a living testament of how to overcome. Jesus has worked too many miracles on your behalf for your story to read like anything less than divine evidence. Your life has receipts. You have walked through places designed to close over your head and came out carrying proof that God rules the depths too. Every chapter announces the same verdict. Hell tried it, but Jesus stood up in it undefeated.

God makes every low place finance your next level. The ground that thought it would bury you is about to fund your elevation.
You are coming out carrying proof that Jesus entered the fire with you and made the flames serve your future. The valley will testify that you passed through, collected everything it owed you, and left too anointed to ever return as the same person. Your life is an open letter from heaven that says, “I sent her through it because I trusted her to return carrying glory.” You did not merely overcome the valley. You made the valley regret ever calling your name.”
The Perfect Visual
The absolutely amazing and gorgeous quilt below was a precious gift to me in 2021 from my dearest childhood friend. She remains a most beautiful part of my life as a tapestry, along with our mutual love for Jesus and music. It is the perfect way to depict the contents of this post! On the back she has sown the words, “Made with Love for Tammy Luchsinger Sorenson My Forever Friend By Robin Cramer Shock November 2021.” It hangs on the wall in my office and the picture does not remotely capture its true beauty and elegance. Now isn’t that how life as a tapestry plays out!
